David Rodriguez, a 43-year-old LASD deputy, admitted to running an illegal scheme with Adam Iza, a 24-year-old crypto businessman. Iza's platform, Zort, was allegedly used to funnel illicit payments to law enforcement.

Rodriguez abused his authority to conduct illegal activities for private security clients, while another deputy, Eric Chase Saavedra, faces related charges.
